State’s first 3D animated film screened in city

SHILLONG: The first full-fledged Khasi 3D animation film in English “U Syiem” was screened at U Soso Tham Auditorium here on Thursday evening putting Meghalaya on the global map of animation.
The film, produced by Cosmic Clusters with background music score and special effects by Melodia Arrangements, explores the life of the legendary Khasi freedom fighter U Tirot Sing.
Briefly addressing the audience as the chief guest at the screening, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma congratulated the young crew of Cosmic Clusters saying that he has been himself inspired by their sheer efforts and determination and that the film would connect the State with the rest of the world.
“When we are grappling with the problems of unemployment among the educated youth, having such a team of ambitious, talented and innovative young friends would set an example for  others that there can be opportunities for them in the entertainment sector,” he said.
Sangma was also of the opinion that the film would enable the young ones to connect with the past.
Earlier, the Chief Minister along with Urban Affairs Minister, Ampareen Lyngdoh, MLAs Jemino Mawthoh and Metbah Lyngdoh, Director of Information & Public Relations, H M Shangpliang and Syiem of Hima Nongkhlaw, Freshstar Manik Syiem lit the inaugural lamp to mark the screening of the film.
Ban Casper Mawlong of Cosmic Clusters informed that they would also be screening the movie in various schools in the State at a lower price.
