SHILLONG: District Council Affairs Minister H.D.R. Lyngdoh on Tuesday asserted that the report of the one-man judicial inquiry commission headed by Justice (retd.) P.G. Agarwal on alleged irregularities and misappropriation of funds and illegal appointments in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) would be tabled before the conclusion of the ongoing budget session.
Lyngdoh made the assurance in the Assembly while replying to a query by NPP legislator James K Sangma.
Lyngdoh said that the report was placed before the Cabinet on Nov 18, 2014, and further informed the House that the Cabinet had directed the DCA Department to consult the Law and Finance departments on measures to be suggested to the District Councils to bring about financial reforms, financial discipline, and budget management, and to place the same again before the Cabinet.
