JOWAI: A 13-year-old girl from the Pnar community was allegedly gang raped by three men at Sunai Cherra village under Karimganj district in Assam.
A village source informed that the incident took place at around 5:00 pm on Monday when the girl and her sister were coming back from a fair price shop.
The girl identified one of the accused as Md. Abdul Basir who was subsequently found absconding.
Meanwhile, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by one Raplang Khonglah alias Bral in Amlarem on Friday last.
According to the victim’s mother, Khonglah dragged the girl into his vehicle and drove to Thlumuvi where he committed the crime. Police arrested the accused.
