NONGSTOIN: KHADC MDC Gabriel Wahlang, who was recently nominated to the Council, was on Friday felicitated by the Nongstoin Assembly Youth Congress and the West Khasi Hills District Congress Committee at a function held at Nongstoin, which, incidentally, was boycotted by the Nongstoin Block Congress Committee, who were opposed to Wahlang’s nomination and had proposed the name of Adviser Pariong instead.
Speaking on the occasion, Gabriel thanked the Youth Congress and District Congress Committee and assured them full support.
He expressed gratitude towards District Council Affairs Minister H.D.R. Lyngdoh, MPCC president D.D> Lapang and Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mukul Sangma for their decision to nominate an MDC from West Khasi Hills where there is no Congress MLA or MDC.
He assured to work for the greater welfare of the constituency and the district.
