Lucknow:  Facing flak from critics on the occasion of completing three years in office, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said his government has fulfilled key poll promises and launched some schemes ahead of the 2017 Assembly elections.
“Today the government has completed three years. We have completed a number of tasks and helped people with various programmes,” he said at a series of functions here to mark the occasion.
His remarks came against the backdrop of opposition parties training their guns at the Akhilesh Yadav government. BJP dubbed as disappointing SP’s rule, with state unit chief Laxmi Kant Bajpai saying these three years would be remembered for poor law and order situation, corruption and anarchy.
“In over 600 incidents, policemen were attacked, while crime rate against women increased by 49.54 per cent,” he told reporters here. (PTI)
