TURA: The GNLA has threatened to unleash explosions in various corners of Garo Hills if the State Government makes any attempt to curb their three-day 5 am to 5 pm bandh beginning from Monday.

GNLA ‘chief’ Sohan D Shira’s personal secretary Kakam D Shira warned that the outfit would not hesitate to ignite explosions if their call for the bandh is not adhered to.

The GNLA wants the withdrawal of operations by security forces and removal of BSF and CRPF’s CoBRA units from the jungles of Garo Hills.

“We have prepared explosives several kgs in weight that are ready to be exploded by our experts in different parts of Garo Hills,” Shira threatened, while adding that a group of their boys had recently returned from training in explosives.
