Kohima: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee(NPCC) has ridiculed the statement of the Noke-Kaito dissident Naga People’s Front (NPF) group.A statement by NPCC today said (the dissident NPF group) frustration is quite understandable since their prolonged fight for the ‘Cock’ symbol signs of early settlement.
As reiterated on earlier occasions, the Congress has nothing to do with the internal turmoil of the NPF. It has only stepped in to stabilise the Government and rescue the people from the clutches of political uncertainty .The NPCC said the Assembly Elections of 2013, gave an overwhelming mandate to the NPF with 38 seats, giving third straight term for the NPF led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) Government.
However, for the past two years it had been plagued by one crisis after another with financial crisis being the most prominent.
The NPCC said that till February 4th this year, the dissident NPF Noke-Kaito group had approached Congress leaders to support them in overthrowing the Government .Instead of indulging in cheap and malicious propaganda and wasting their time, they should outrightly admit that they were the ones who created the turmoil within the NPF, rather than childishly blaming the Congress or any other party for their face saving measures, the NPCC said.
