TURA: The AMEF has warned of stern action against anyone extorting money in the name of the outfit.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, AMEF alleged that one Goran Sangma was involved in such extortions in South West and West Garo Hills districts.
“Goran was once one of us but he deserted the outfit last month fearing action against him as he had violated the rules of the outfit. Besides extorting in the name of the AMEF, he has also been demanding money in the name of GNLA and ASAK,” AMEF claimed.
