TURA: The GNLA has decided to relax the indefinite Ampati bandh from April 2-6 on account of Good Friday and Easter.
The outfit, however, made it clear that the indefinite bandh will continue from April 7 onwards.
“The indefinite bandh will continue in Ampati until the Home Minister takes action against those involved in the Oragitok fake encounter,” joint publicity secretary of the outfit, Garo Mandei Ch Marak said in a statement.
The GNLA also questioned the role of pressure groups including the GSU who allegedly failed to stand by the “students who were being arrested and implicated by Police who dubbed them as militants.”
Ironically, Marak was all praise for the general public of Garo Hills who are “cooperating with the bandh call given by the outfit”.
