AICC to meet for strengthening NECCC

NEW DELHI: The AICC will soon call a meeting of the Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states of North East in the National capital to further strengthen the North East Congress Coordination Committee (NECCC), party sources said on Monday.
Chief Ministers of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Mizoram will first meet the AICC general secretary in charge of the region, V Naryanswamy. The current chairman, DD Lapang will also be present on the occasion.
The next meeting of the NECCC will most probably be held in Guwahati, party sources said.
Besides the Chief Ministers, all the PCC presidents, leaders of frontal organisations in the region and other important leaders will participate in the NECCC meeting.
Lapang who left the National capital on Sunday had detailed discussions with the AICC leaders about the NECCC during his stay in Delhi. He also held meetings with Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi and discussed various issues with him.
