SHILLONG: BJP national president Amit Shah on Wednesday attacked the Congress-led MUA government in Meghalaya for mis-governance and called on the party workers to unearth scams and corruptions in the State committed by the State government.
Addressing BJP workers here after his arrival, Shah asked the party workers to obtain information about various corruptions and scams by way of filing RTIs or other such means and compile a list of such cases in the form of a ‘booklet’ and distribute it to the people.
The BJP chief also slammed the Congress government saying people in Meghalaya would not have remained poor had the State government honestly utilized all the funds allotted by the Centre.
He asked the party workers in the State to keep a tab on the manner in which Central government schemes are implemented in Meghalaya and to point out any instance of corruption.
Asserting that the BJP wants to develop the region, Shah said that the party would bring 100 per cent grants to the Northeastern states.
Shah asserted that the BJP-ruled government was committed to develop the North East and many projects have been sanctioned for the region.
The BJP chief also asked party workers in the state to make the party stronger and to ensure that the saffron party is able to form a new government in the state during the 2018 Assembly elections.
He expressed happiness that the BJP has over than twenty thousand workers in Meghalaya.
