SHILLONG:  The Secretary, Meghalaya Urban Development Authority, Shillong has informed all owners of Public/Semi-Public and Private buildings used by the public (existing and on-going construction) within the Master Plan areas and Scheme areas as notified from time to time, within the State, that in pursuance to the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act, 1995, the aforementioned buildings have to be made barrier free and should provide provisions for Persons with Disabilities, as per Section E of the Meghalaya Building Bye Law 2011 with immediate effect.
