Bengaluru: Nearly 100 people from Karnataka have been stranded following the massive earthquake which rocked Nepal on Saturday.
“Nearly 100 people from the state have been stranded in Nepal where a massive earthquake hit the country,” Umesh Kumar, IGP, Northern Range, told PTI here. Karnataka Government has deputed Kumar and senior IAS officer Pankaj Kumar Pande to go to Nepal to ensure safe evacuation of people from the state.
Kumar said both he and Pande will be reaching Nepal tomorrow to begin relief operations.
“We both will be reaching Nepal tomorrow,” he said. Kumar said all the people are safe. “They are in the open. Everyone whom we are in touch are safe. There has been no damage suffered of any sorts,” he said. (PTI)
