Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir on Saturday confirmed that West Indies spinner Sunil Narine, reported for suspected bowling action, will be up for selection against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter here on Sunday. Narine’s action was reported by the match officials after the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Visakhapatnam. His action was initially cleared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during the start of the ongoing IPL. He underwent bowling action corrective tests in Chennai on Saturday. “Sunil is available for the game tomorrow, he is undergoing tests in Chennai, and the results will be out in about 48 hours, but he is available just that the management did not want to take risk and he was thus sent,” Gambhir said at the pre-match conference here. Afridi criticises umpires after T20 defeat
Mirpur: Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has criticised umpiring decisions following their seven-wicket loss to Bangladesh in the one-off Twenty20 International here. Bangladesh registered their maiden win over Pakistan in T20Is at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here on Friday. Afridi was given out caught behind by Mushfiqur Rahim off Mustafizur Rahman. TV replays, however, suggested no edge but the ball seemed to get a slight deviation after going past the bat, reports bdnews24.com. “I just told him (umpire) that I wasn’t out in my opinion. But people make mistakes. The match referee must have seen it. So ICC is watching this,” Afridi, who was a member of the World Twenty20-winning Pakistan squad in 2009, said. (IANS)
