Shifting of CRPF men from indoor stadium in Nongpoh

NONGPOH: Registering strong resentment over the ‘misuse’ of the indoor stadium at Umlyngkdait in Nongpoh, the sports associations of Ri Bhoi on Monday issued a four-day deadline to the Deputy Commissioner to shift the CRPF personnel stationed at the stadium for the last few months.
The sport associations including Ri Bhoi Badminton Association (RBBA), Ri Bhoi District Boxing Association (RBDBA), Ri Bhoi District Kickboxing & Wushu Association (RBDK&WA) among others took this decision in an emergency meeting held here on Monday evening. They also decided to part ways with the Indoor Stadium Committee headed by the DC as the chairman.
The indoor stadium is being used for temporary lodging of the CRPF personnel stationed in Nongpoh for NGT duty. They are involved in checking of coal laden trucks plying through the district.
