Arunachal Govt renders farewell to parting Guv

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma became Sentimental bidding adicu to his state on relinquishing governorship.
In his farewell adress he said, “Arunachal Pradesh is my family and I have every right to visit here whenever I wish to.”
He and the first lady were given a state honour by the government at Golden Jubilee Banquet hall here last evening.
Sharma has been recently appointed the Governor of Mizoram and is being replaced by J P Rajkhowa as the new Governor of this Himalayan State who is slated to take oath on June one.
Touched by the simplicity and hospitality of Arunachalees, Sharma said he and his family would never forget the love and warmth showered to them by the people of Arunachal.
He had all praises for Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and his colleagues for taking his advises on positive note and working on it for the betterment of the state and believed that the beautiful and resourceful state of Arunachal Pradesh could be developed into a model state.
The governor appreciated the growing responsiveness among the youths. He opined for channelizing youth power to create a rich pool of human resource for a vibrant and self sustained Arunachal Pradesh.
He appealed to the people to check the alarming drug addiction which is gradually engulfing the youths. He believed that Arunachal Pradesh would soon touch new heights of prosperity.
During the occasion Chief Minister Nabam Tuki honoured the Governor and the First Lady.
In his speech, Tuki thanked the outgoing Governor and the first lady for their support and guidance to the state and its people. He specifically mentioned the explicit concern of the Governor particularly for upliftment of the standard of living of people in remote and border areas.
He also attributed Sharma’s persistent efforts to establish railway links and Sainik School and expediting the road projects. (UNI)
