New Delhi: The BJP is most likely to get 162 out of 243 seats to contest the upcoming Bihar assembly polls, according to the seat sharing formula agreed by the major stakeholders of the National Democratic Alliance, which will be formally announced on Saturday evening.
The second most beneficiary of the arrangement would be the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), headed by Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, who is likely to get the quota of 41 seats while the Hindustani Awam Morcha led by former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has understood to have settled on 15 seats.
The Rashtriya Lok Samata Party headed by Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha will finally have to be satisfied with 25 seats, sources in the BJP said. Hectic parleys were on to finalise the seat sharing, with the LJP demanding 46 seats. The issue was left to BJP president Amit Shah and party in-charge for Bihar Ananth Kumar, who had their final say.
On the other hand, Janata Parivar minus Samajwadi Party, has already sorted out their seat sharing formula under which JDU and RJD will fight 100 seats each and 40 will be contested by the Congress.
SP Supremo and Parivar founder Mulayam Singh had walked out of the grand alliance with the party deciding to go solo in all the seats in the election. (UNI)
