Several pressure groups including the JSU and the Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) condemned the alleged irresponsible behavior of the MeECL officers over the issue.
Another pressure group Jaintia National Volunteer (JNV) made a written complaint to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the MeECL, Jowai on Thursday seeking clarification over the frequent power disruption in Jaintia Hills.
Frequent power failure affected functioning of government offices and commercial establishments besides affecting the students who are preparing for their examinations.
