Base laid for Rs 7 crore RCC bridge in SWGH

AMPATI: Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Zenith M Sangma on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for an RCC bridge over river Dilni at Rongchadenggre village in South West Garo Hills. He also inaugurated additional classrooms of Rongchadenggre Upper Primary School during the programme.
The RCC bridge over river Dilni, which will enormously benefit the people of remote Rongchadenggre and its surrounding villages is being constructed under Special Plan Assistance with an estimate of about Rs.7 crore while, the additional class rooms were constructed under BRGF with an estimate of Rs.12 lakh.
Addressing the gathering the Sports & Youth Affairs Minister stated that road connectivity was an essential component to usher in speedy development. He said that initially an estimate of Rs.10 crore was submitted for the construction of the RCC Bridge, out of which about Rs.7 crore were sanctioned and added that additional funds would be needed to make the bridge operational.
Parliamentary Secretary in charge PWD (Roads) Cherak W Momin was also present on the occasion.
