SHILLONG: The women’s wing of Hynñiewtrep Achik National Movement has postponed the indefinite hunger strike scheduled for September 21 in front of the office of PWD, (Roads), Nongpoh Division after the intervention from Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner.
The strike was planned in protest against the delay on part of the Government for metalling and black topping of the 5.50 kilometer Byrnihat- GS Road- Killing road for several years.
The women’s group received a letter from Office of the Deputy Commissioner written by Y. Laloo, Executive Engineer, PWD, (Roads), Nongpoh Division which said that the Nongpoh Division was awaiting sanction from the Government to start the work.
