SHILLONG: A group of parliamentary secretaries in the State have expressed unhappiness over the fact that they were not been given any work and were being completely sidelined.
The parliamentary secretaries, who preferred to remain anonymous, complained that they were not assigned any work by the bosses in their departments and were also being ignored by the Government.
“It seems that the only job left for us is to sign and attest documents of the people,” one of the parliamentary secretaries said, adding that most of them were ‘depressed’ and were not in the right frame of mind to come to the Secretariat daily.
Some parliamentary secretaries even alleged that cabinet ministers had completely sidelined them and they were feeling helpless.
They further said that it was high time that Chief Minister Mukul Sangma acted to put his team together     especially in view of the reports that three Congress MLAs and one independent legislator was likely to join the BJP.
Claiming that they knew the four legislators who were likely to join the BJP but did not want to reveal their names, the parliamentary secretaries stated that there might be many more Congress and Independent MLAs seeking tom align with the BJP just before the elections.
It may be recalled that some parliamentary secretaries had lodged a complaint with Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president D.D. Lapang over the inaccessibility of the chief minister due to his long periods of absence from the State.
