SHILLONG: The State Government has constituted a Committee consisting of M. Kharmujai, Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management Department as Chairman, P.S. Dkhar, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District and a representative from the Law Department as members to examine the excess land of the present lease holders.
The Committee shall look into the issues relating to renewal of lease agreement in respect of lease holders where the actual land is more in area than that area mentioned in the lease agreement after re-survey. The Committee shall come up with concrete suggestion on how to settle wasteland/excess land within one month, a statement said on Monday.
