Loy Mendonsa and co to perform in city

SHILLONG: The music capital of the country – Shillong –  is alls et to host the topmost Jazz musicians of the country in a musical extravaganza titled, Jazz on a Cloud, to be staged at St. Anthony’s College auditorium on Saturday.
Promoted by RonCha Project, the event will witness one of India’s top Bollywood composers, Loy Mendonsa, who is also part of the famous trio, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, on Bass Guitar. Also performing will be Gino Banks, son of India’s pioneer Jazz musician & composer, Louiz Banks, and a celebrated drummer in his own right. In addition, Ronojit Chaliha from Guwahati, a young Jazz pianist of repute, will also be featured.
All three musicians have independently won critical acclaim in their fields and have wide experience at the national and global arenas.
Part of the proceeds from the event will be contributed to the Bethany Society for Children. An added attraction will be a featured performance by LAD, a group of talented young musicians from the Bethany Society.
This is the first time that a high-profile Jazz trio from India will be performing in this region.
