Special summary revision of electoral rolls

Shillong: The deputy chief electoral officer, Meghalaya has informed that the Election Commission has fixed the programme for the special summary revision of electoral rolls, with January 1, 2016 as the qualifying date. The revised date for the draft publication of electoral rolls is on October 16 and period for filing of claims and objections is from October 16 to November 10.
Reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in Gram Sabha etc., and verification of names is on October 20 and November 5. The special campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections is fixed on October 24 and October 31 and disposal of claims and objections by December 5.
Updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list is to be done by December 23 and the final publication of Electoral Rolls is on January 11.
