SHILLONG: Concerned over the killing of two police personnel in Garo Hills, Home Minister Roshan Warjri has asked the citizens to extend their cooperation in the fight against militancy.
In a statement issued to the media on Friday, the Home Minister said she was deeply pained over the incident in East Garo Hills District where two brave police personnel of the Meghalaya Police battalion constables Helpingstone Nongkseh and Kundan Dalu were shot dead by suspected militants on October 1.
“I pay my homage to the two members of the Meghalaya Police, who were victims of the scourge of militancy,” she said.
The Home Minister also extended her condolences to members of the bereaved families.
“Such inhuman acts are highly condemnable and are aimed to disrupt the peace and stability of the region. I also take this opportunity to reassure the citizens of our State that the State Government is making all out efforts and taking all steps and measures to combat and contain militancy,” Warjri added.
