Solar street light batteries stolen in city

SHILLONG: Miscreants stole solar street light batteries from as many as six electric poles which were installed by the MeECL as part of Green City project.
Police informed that the miscreants stole the solar street light batteries from pole no. 68 and 69 at U Soso Tham Auditorium tri junction, pole no. 35 and 36 at Additional Secretariat and pole no. 53, 70 and 71 at Pinewood Hotel junction recently. A complaint in this regard was lodged by M.D Basaiawmoit, Executive Engineer (RE) Construction Division, Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (MePDCL), Shillong.
