Canara Bank awards scholarship to school students

JOWAI: The Jowai branch Canara Bank in West Jaintia Hills has awarded scholarship to six students selected from three schools. The scholarship was presented  at Ladthadlaboh UP School on Friday.
The scholarships worth Rs. 2500 were paid to students under class VIII and Rs.5000 to students studying in Class VIII and above.
The students have been selected  among those who fall below poverty line but have shown good academic results and with due recommendation of the School principals. The branch manager of the Bank, L Shabong informed that it is a part of the bank’s  Corporate Social Responsibility.
