SHILLONG: Condolences have been pouring in following the untimely demise of PCN video journalist Kenny Warjri in a road mishap at Paikan in Assam on Sunday afternoon.
The Shillong Press Club held an emergent meeting on Monday to condole the death of one of its members.
Grieving members of the SPC paid rich tributes to the late journalist and shared their poignant thoughts on his amiable and humble nature, which had endeared him to all.
Taking note of the fact that Warjri, who tirelessly served the people through his journalistic efforts died while on duty, fellow journalists recalled that he had been a dedicated media person, whose life came to a tragic end at the peak of his career.
Warjri’s sudden and untimely demise has caused a perennial vacuum in the relatively small media family of Shillong in particular and Meghalaya as a whole, the press fraternity felt.
The members of the media fraternity stood in silence as a mark of respect to their departed comrade and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
The FKJGP and KHNAM also condoled the death of the journalist.
