JOWAI: East Jaintia Hills Police have arrested three persons in connection with two separate rapes cases.
Two persons — Lui Bareh and Pyrkhat Chyrmang both of Jalaphet village — were arrested on Sunday night for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl of Moolight village.
Sources informed that, the duo kidnapped the girl in a vehicle to an isolated area and raped her.
Meanwhile, the duo was remanded to judicial custody by a local court on Monday. Another person — Tomlang Lamo — was arrested for allegedly raping a girl along with his friend last month at Lumshken village in East Jaintia Hills.
