SHILLONG: The Jaintia Students’ Union has submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills, to take action against schools forcing students to sell lucky draw tickets and making the parents of the children pay for the unsold tickets.
“Such acts of forcing students to pay for unsold tickets are illegal and unwarranted,” the JSU said.
The JSU claimed that the students are selling the tickets at offices, parking lots, streets etc., putting themselves in a vulnerable position.
