Truck drivers vandalise toll plaza at Shillong by-pass

SHILLONG: Around 100 coal truck drivers recently vandalized the toll plaza at Shillong By-pass and even assaulted eight employees stationed there.
Officials from NHAI said that the incident occurred on the evening of November 4 when around 100 truck drivers came to the plaza and refused to pay the toll.
The truck drivers vandalized the plaza causing damage to seven computers, one printer, four CCTV cameras etc. The truck drivers also stole five cell phones and four ceiling fans and damaged property worth Rs. 5 lakh (approx).
The NHAI has filed an FIR in this regard.
