SHILLONG: The disbanded breakaway faction of the ANVC  — ANVC (B) — has criticized the Centre and the State government for the delay in the announcement  of rehabilitation package for its cadres.
The ANVC-B leader Bernard Marak on Wednesday said that his group was yet to receive any response either from the Centre or the State Government regarding rehabilitation package.
The ANVC and the ANVC (B) were disbanded in Tura, West Garo Hills, in December last year following the signing of a memorandum of settlement with the Centre and the Meghalaya government. During the disbanding ceremony, 748 cadres (447 from the ANVC and 301 from the ANVC-B) were present.
According to Marak, a blame game is on between the Centre and State government as far as the rehabilitation package is concerned.
“The Central government tells us it has not received any communication from the State government, which on the other hand claims  that there is no response from the Centre,” he said.
Irked over the delay, the ANVC-B has decided to write again to the State government and the Centre seeking early announcement of package for the cadres.
