Exporters’ body urges Govt to expedite limestone trade

SHILLONG: The War Jaintia Limestone / Boulder stone Exporters and Miners  Association,  has urged the  state government to expedite the issue of export of limestone at the earliest following the order of the High Court, so that  trade with Bangladesh via Dawki land customs station cane resumed soon.
In a statement issued to the media , the Association also thanked  the Meghalaya  High Court, especially  the three Judges  of the full  Bench, for their Judgment on the review petition filed by the state government  in connection with the issue which involves  the livelihood of all the inhabitants of the War  Jaintia Area under Amlarem Sub Division.
The WJLBEMA also acknowledged responsibility shouldered by the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma for following up the matter for public Interest.
The WJLBEMA also expressed gratitude  to the Law department,  the government lawyers and the  forest department for their hard work.
