Mock exercise for tackling earthquake held

TURA:   A Mock Exercise simulating a disastrous 7.9 magnitude earthquake with the epicenter at 15 kilometers beneath Betasing C and RD Block was held at Ampati Indoor Stadium premises on 4 December 2015. The exercise was organised by the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and the South West Garo Hills District Administration to gauge the degree of preparedness and capability of the district machinery and the community to mitigate loss of life and property during, when and after a disaster.
