SHILLONG: The pending PIL on the dual post has delayed any action on the part of both the AICC and MPCC against KHADC Chief Executive Member P.N. Syiem, who had openly revolted against Chief Minister Mukul Sangma over the dual post Bill, which according to Syiem was passed without due consultations.
The Full Bench of the High Court of Meghalaya will take up the pending matter on Tuesday.
A Congress source said on Sunday that since the matter is sub-judice, the party has delayed airing its views or resorting to action against any party member.
The source added that both AICC and MPCC are adopting    a wait and watch policy though there is no end to the tussle between the chief minister and the chief executive member over the issues on dual post, empowerment of headmen and nominated member to KHADC among others.
Despite the Disqualification (Members of the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya) Amendment Bill, 2015, taking effect from October 1, Syiem is the lone legislator in the State who has been holding on to the post of CEM for the last two months making the Bill almost ‘defunct’.
Earlier, seven legislators had quit the post of MDCs fearing that if they continue to hold on to the posts, they were likely to be disqualified in wake of the dual post Bill taking effect from October 1.
