SHILLONG: Fire painting, sand animation, and freestyle football besides concert featuring bands including Summersalt, Kubikles Thegimpi and others will form part of the Shillong Lantern Festival scheduled for December 19 at 2nd Polo Ground.
Besides, there will be flash mob, dances and DJ shows on the occasion.
Addressing a press conference here, Sumit Ghosh, Project Director, Amazing Colours of India, said the idea behind the festival is to attract the maximum number of tourists and also to provide a platform for budding State artists to display their talents.
There will also be an entertainment programme by artistes who will arrive from Chennai and Guwahati and a part of the proceeds from the Festival would be used to help the victims of the Chennai floods.
The organizers further added that the Lantern Festival will be a precursor to the upcoming Christmas celebrations.
The Festival will kick start at 5.30 PM.
