Rahul alleges PMO role behind National Herald issue

Guwahati: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday alleged role of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) behind the National Herald trouble faced by him and his mother, Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
He alleged that the National Herald issues was being orchestrated by the PMO.
He, however, added that the law would take its course and he had respect for the law.
On chances of his getting bail in the case, Gandhi said he was awaiting the outcome of the next hearing on December 19 next.
“The fact to be understood here is that it is a not-for-profit company ( that owns the National Herald). It is a legal process now and I fully respect the law,” he added.
Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had accused Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, among others, of ‘fraudulently’ acquiring Associated Journals Ltd, published of the now-defunct daily ‘National Herald’, and transferring its assets worth crores of rupees to another company, Young Indian.
