Nicki Minaj testifies to keep boyfriend out of jail
Rapper Nicki Minaj testified on behalf of her boy     friend, rapper Meek Mill, in a Philadelphia court     hearing to try and keep him out of jail. The “Anaconda” hitmaker’s rapper beau was in court in Pennsylvania for a parole violation hearing, and his girlfriend was by his side urging Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley to see what she sees in her man. Mill, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, is in trouble for reportedly violating parole in a 2009 drug and gun case by repeatedly changing his court-approved travel schedule, and accompanying Minaj to the recent American Music Awards in Los Angeles without the permission of his probation officer, reported New York Post. Testifying for almost 30 minutes, Minaj told Judge Brinkley, “He’s not perfect but I can’t believe how much he’s changed,” and then told the court she plans to help her boyfriend get organised and fulfil his community service requirements. Meek Mill is due back in court on December 17. (PTI)
Bandmates taught me to handle rejections: Chris Martin
Chris Martin’s Coldplay bandmates have taught him     to handle rejection as they are openly critical of his     songs over the past decade. The Coldplay frontman insists he has his bandmates to thank for helping him deal with setbacks, reported BBC Radio. “One thing we learnt from working with this guy, Brian Eno, is that you have to learn to take rejection. You have to learn that in your life anyway. So now I accept it – sometimes they’ll say, ‘Great, I love it. That feels amazing.’ They never say it in a mean way, it’s more like (nice). “But sometimes they (his bandmates) really like it and we just go with it. We have a song called ‘Everglow’, which I showed to everybody and that song was fully formed with a piano and vocal and we just recorded it straight away in half an hour and it was done, which is an amazing feeling.” The 38-year-old musician also insists the band get on incredibly well, and rarely fight. Having tried his hands in the erotica franchise “Hate     Story”, actor Sharman Joshi is now all set to be a     part of the horror series – “1920” which is likely to be released in March-April next year. Titled “1920 London”, the movie is the third film in the franchise, whose previous installments were “1920 Evil Returns” and “1920”. There were reports that the film, helmed by debut director Tinu Desai, was stuck in some production issues. The actor, however, says the film will come out sometime in March or April 2016. “My next film will be ‘1920 London’. It’s in horror genre, something which I’ve never attempted. It is directed by Tinu Desai and written by Vikram Bhatt. The movie should release sometime March-April next year,” Sharman told PTI. “1920 London” also stars actress Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Meera, who was seen in last year’s paranormal-comedy “Gang of Ghosts”. “1920”, directed by Vikram Bhatt, was released in 2008 and starred Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma.
