Hima Mylliem ‘accepts’ Mikirs

SHILLONG: The Hima Mylliem has finally accepted the Mikirs as inhabitants of the Hima. This was declared by three Myntri of the Hima, K. Langstieh, M.B Kharlukhi, and R. Kharbuki.
A cultural function was organised at Umwang in Ri Bhoi by the Mikirs to celebrate the occasion. The functionaries of Hima Mylliem were present on the occasion.
Over five Raids, Raid Umwang, Raid Nongkharai, Raid Kharpati (each consisting of 8 villages), Raid Pla sha and Raid Kuswa (each with 3 villages), falling under the jurisdiction of Hima Mylliem took part in the celebration.
The Myntri assured that the Mikirs and the Hima will work together to preserve their culture.
