Fire razes scraps shed at Mawlonghat parking lot

SHILLONG: A temporary shed which housed scrap materials consisting of empty cartons and liquor bottles at Mawlonghat in the city was gutted by fire at around 9 PM on Sunday.
The fire was completely doused by around 10.30 PM after fire tenders were called in.
According to the Fire Service,     the exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.
Moreover, the extent of damage is also yet to be assessed as inquiry was still on.
“We have to speak to the owner of the scrap business as part of the inquiry tomorrow to assess the damage,” fire service personnel said on Sunday.
