False job promise

SHILLONG: A student of UTM was allegedly cheated by two persons with a promise of a job. According to police, the victim identified as Rishi Kumar of Nongrim Road lodged a complaint that on December 27, two persons, a woman identified as Ranjita and one Dhiraj Kumar offered jobs in two different companies through e-mail and asked him to deposit Rs. 8,900 in each company.
Later, he found that the offers were fake and the companies do not charge any fees for the recruitment process.
