Minor girl raped
A woman of Psiar village (WJH) lodged a complaint that on December 26 at around 11.30 pm, one Dianki Synnah raped her thirteen-year-old daughter.
Attempt to rape
On December 24 at around 8 pm, one Kitborlang Jyrwa, attempted to rape a woman at her residence at Lumpluh village, East Khasi Hills and also threatened her with dire consequences. Police arrested the accused.
Girl flees after torture
A 19-year-old girl lodged a complaint that on December 12 , she was married in Ambala, Cantt. District Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh. However, her in-laws tortured her and on December 20, she ran away from Ambala (HP) and came to Shillong.
Two killed in road accident
On December 20 at around 5.30 pm, one tempo (ML-08-8190) met with an accident near Tangabari junction in South West Garo Hills. As a result, two occupants, Suroy Miah (30) and Kotesar Hajong (45) died on the spot. Driver of the tempo fled away after the incident.
Motorcycle set on fire
On December 31 at around 1 am, unknown miscreants set fire to one motorcycle (ML-05H-1355) belonging to one Mecky Franko Kharkongor at Langkyrding Mihngi, Shillong.
Tyres stolen
On December 31 at around 2.30 am, unknown miscreants stole twenty tyres from the godown of one Alam at Punjabi Line, Cantonment, Shillong.
Driver sustains injuries
On December 31 at about 4.45 am, an accident took place between one jeep (ML-05-5697) driven by Herman M. Lyngdoh and one Tata Sumo (ML-05K-6831) driven by Shreeman Gurung at MES Point, As a result, driver of jeep sustained minor injuries.
Pedestrian knocked down
On December 30 at around 10.20 pm, one Maruti Alto car (ML-05H-1993) driven by Lebis Kharkongor knocked down Amit Gurung at Rynjah, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.
One assaulted
On December 29, unidentified miscreants assaulted John Shadap (36) at MES, Rynjah. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong.
Bike stolen
Balgrang Sangma lodged a complaint that on December 28 unknown miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-07B-3562) from his residence at Kusimkolgre village (EGH).
Police arrests car thief
On January 2 around 1.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Hyundai i-10 Grand car (ML-05N-0433) belonging to Rahul Bajaj from Thana Road, Shillong. The stolen car was later recovered from Jail Road, Shillong. In this connection, Police arrested one Johny Singh.
Scooty stolen
On December 27 at around 9.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one scooty (AS-01-BP-9671) belonging to Robin Singh Bhalla from Pillangkata (Ri-Bhoi).
One knocked down
On January 2 around 5 am, one motorcycle (ML-06-5403) ridden by one Wireless Nongrang knocked down Noril Sawkmie (40 years) at Mawmih Mawlaingat under Lumdiengjri PS (East Khasi Hills). Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
