Woman gangraped, beaten; two arrested in UP

Etah: A woman was allegedly abducted while going to a market, and later raped and beaten by two persons in Kotwali jaithera area of the district, police said on Saturday. One accused, Rajesh, was arrested yesterday while the other, Banttoo, is absconding, they said.
The incident took place on Thursday night when the victim was on her way to market and abducted by the two accused who took her to a forest grove. They both raped her and threatened to kill her if she resisted. She was also beaten by them, police said. The two then fled from the spot, they added. An FIR has been lodged against the accused on the basis of the victim’s complaint and the victim was sent for a medical examination, Station officer, Kotwali jaithera police, Kailash Chandra Dubey said.
