SHILLONG: A conglomeration of Church leaders, senior citizens and NGOs, which organised a peace rally at Tura Chandmary Playground on January 8, has expressed shock and disappointment at the news of the bomb blast at Williamnagar Market on January 9.
The conglomeration condemned the cruel and inhuman activities of those responsible for the act in the strongest terms and said that such kind of dastardly and cowardly action of militants has derailed the peace process.
The rally appealed to all militants groups and others not to disturb the peace process in the region but to extend their full co-operation so that peace will return to the Garo Hills region.
It also appealed to the State government to try its utmost to bring the culprits to book and punish them as per the law.
