Probe into misuse of money by ex-JHADC CEM on

SHILLONG: Members of the Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) and the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) on Monday met the district Dy. Superintendent of Police (DSP) to seek information on the progress of the investigation into the misuse of public money by former CEM of Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), Madonbai Rymbai, which was revealed through an RTI filed by Arlin Dkhar of Moopyllaitsyiar, Khliehtyrshi.
The DSP is heading the enquiry into the allegation of misappropriation of money to the tune of Rs.1,18,50,000 including Discretionary Grant of over Rs.66 lakh and Gratuity Relief of over Rs.52.5 lakh, allegedly by Rymbai who is the sitting MDC from Khliehtyrshi-Sohmynting.
The two organizations questioned the delay in obtaining the prosecution sanction despite the inquiry running for over two years.
The DSP informed the members of the organizations that the inquiry will be completed soon and prosecution sanction will be obtained from the government following which the matter will be handed over to the court.
