SHILLONG: In a shocking incident, a PWD lower division assistant (LDA) allegedly brandished a screwdriver and attempted to attack Home Guard and SB personnel on duty at the Main Secretariat on Tuesday morning.
Police informed that on Tuesday morning around 10.25 AM, one Robert Mawkhiew went to the Main Secretariat and wanted to meet the State chief secretary.
On being informed that the chief secretary was not available, the accused allegedly brandished a screwdriver and attempted to attack the Home Guard and SB personnel on duty and later fled in his car (ML-05F-0600).
When contacted, police said they have not received any complaint and added that they will take suo moto action and conduct an inquiry into the incident.
