SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong of Demseiniong has clarified that the authority to hold the Dorbar lies with the executive committee and not with the headman.
One Mickey Lyngdoh, a senior resident of the locality, had complained that headman A. Blah was continuing in his office even though his term had expired. Reacting to the same, the Dorbar clarified that the EC had extended the headman’s tenure to complete the supervision of projects initiated by it.
They claimed that the water connection as mentioned by Mickey Lyngdoh was a public water connection and not a private one and added that all PHE taps are installed on the main road for the benefit of all residents of Demseiniong and not on bye-lanes for the benefit of a few, as alleged by Lyngdoh.
