NF Railway GM holds pre-budget discussion with members of Parliament

Maligaon  (ASSAM): The General Manager of NF Railway, H K Jaggi, held an informal discussion with Members of Parliament, whose  parliam-entary constituencies are served by the N. F. Railway, in a meeting held at N. F. Railway Headquarters in Maligaon ton Sunday.
The meeting with the MPs was held following the directives of Union Minister for Railways, Suresh Prabahkar Prabhu, to elicit the Members of Parliament’s suggestions and opinion on the preparation of the ensuing Railway Budget 2016-17 to be tabled in the Parliament on February 28.
This was the first-ever such exercise done by the Railways before preparation of a Railway Budget.
Altogether, fifteen MPs from Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya & West Bengal participated in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the General Manager, Jaggi made a presentation on the current position of the N. F. Railway in terms of ongoing projects, operations, financial performance and future plans.
The Members of Parliament put forward their suggestions and demands for inclusion in the Railway Budget, which will be forwarded to the Railway Ministry.
