TURA: Senior GNLA militant Elyzer N Marak alias Denchrek (19) hailing from Darimgre under Williamnagar PS surrendered before SP, EGH, Davis Nestell .R. Marak at Darimgre with a pistol and 11 live rounds along with some incriminating documents on Wednesday.
He belonged to the 5th batch GNLA and was last in Chokpot command under GNLA commander known as Kamdak.
He was fortunate to escape several police encounters. He revealed that he was with commander Marcus in a police encounter in Bansamgre and also at Norek Bollongre encounter with action commander Jimmy group where one of their militant member identified as Cheman was killed. He was also injured in the Songmagre encounter where he was hit by mortar fire from security forces during a raid on their camp. The last encounter he faced against police was when he was part of GNLA commanders Megam & Geloram when there was a firefight with police at Nengrugittim in which they managed to escape, last year.
