SHILLONG: Residents of Phlangwanbroi have rejected the appointment of Francis Sohmat as the acting Syiem or acting chief of Hima Malaisohmat, alleging that he has been appointed without the people’s knowledge or consent by the KHADC in place of Paiem P. Iawrod.
The locals asserted they will not allow the new Syiem to take charge and asked KHADC CEM P.N. Syiem to call off the order for the removal of the Syiem and reinstate Iawrod as the Syiem.
